Le Dr Daniel Rouach, Rédacteur d’IsraelValley, a le regret d’annoncer la mort de Jacqueline Grapin, une grande amie du Technion et d’Israël. Communiqué de la famille : « Julien Le Goc, Claire, Antoine, Louise, Arthellaïs et Altinaï Harmel, ont la douleur de vous faire part du décès de leur mère, belle-mère et grand-mère, Jacqueline Grapin Le Goc, survenu le mercredi 28 novembre 2018 à Crans Montana, en Suisse. Commandeur de la Légion d’Honneur, Jacqueline Grapin Le Goc était une économiste spécialisée dans les relations transatlantiques.

Jacqueline Grapin Le Goc était avant tout une femme qui avait dédié sa vie à l’avancement des relations transatlantiques et à sa famille. C’était une femme de cœur. Un rassemblement en souvenir de Jacqueline Grapin Le Goc se tiendra le 4 décembre à 19 :30 au restaurant « Les Marches, » situé au 5 rue de la Manutention, Paris 16ème. Toutes les personnes qui l’ont connu y sont cordialement invitées ».

BIOGRAPHY. Jacqueline Grapin is Founder and Co-Chair of the Board of The European Institute, and Publisher of European Affairs, the on-line publication of The European Institute. Grapin, who was born in Paris, has lived in Washington since 1985. She is an economist and an expert in European integration and transatlantic economic and strategic issues.

Grapin was President of The European Institute from 1989 through 2005. During her career, she has held the positions of Economic Editor and Staff Writer for Le Monde, Director General of the Interavia Publishing Group publishing the International Defense Review in Geneva, and economic correspondent in the United States for Le Figaro. She was Editor-in-Chief of Europa, a joint publication of Le Monde, The Times of London, Die Welt, and La Stampa.

Grapin holds degrees in political science from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris; in business management from HEC, Paris; in law from Paris I; and in strategic studies from the Institut des Hautes Etudes de Défense Nationale. She is the author of several books including La Guerre Civile Mondiale (Prix Vauban), Radioscopie des Etats Unis, Forteresse America and Pacific America and a report entitled Transatlantic Interoperability in the Defense Industries: How the United States and Europe Could Better Cooperate in Coalition Military Operations.

She has written numerous articles for French, American, British, and German newspapers and magazines. Grapin makes frequent public appearances, speaking on various aspects of European developments and US-European relations. In the US, she is a regular guest of The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, CNN, C-SPAN and National Public Radio.

Grapin is a Counselor to the French government on foreign trade, and President of the Washington chapter of the Conseillers du Commerce Exterieur. A Trustee Emeritus of the Aspen Institute in the US, she serves on the International Advisory Council of La Poste. She is a member of the Advisory Council of the Kogod College of Business Administration of American University in Washington and the Board of Directors of the Jean Monnet Foundation in Lausanne. She served on the Board of Directors of the French American Chamber of Commerce in Washington; and the humanitarian organization Action Against Hunger (AAH-USA) in New York. She is a member of the Women’s Foreign Policy Group in Washington, the National Press Club in Washington, the Bretton Woods Committee, and the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London.

Grapin is a Commandeur in the French Legion of Honor.
