“France Telecom scouting the talent by Amitai Ziv : Top executives from France Telecom are trolling the Holy Land for talent. More specifically France Telecom, one of the largest communications operators in the world, is looking for business opportunities in entrenched and startup technology companies.
Nathalia Boulanger, the corporation’s V.P. Marketing and Strategy, even joined the business delegation that President Nicolas Sarkozy brought on his recent visit to Israel.
Hagai Barel, founder and CEO of Orca Interactive, which was bought out by France Telecom a few months ago for $21 million, said that France Telecom de facto operates a development center in Israel, namely Orca and its 70 engineers.
“The company has availed itself of our assistance in considering various other options in Israel. While it’s true that Israeli high-tech companies have done business mainly with the U.S. so far, there is no reason not to turn to the European market as well. A company like France Telecom has a sales turnover of 54 billion euros,” he said.
