Tel Aviv (Youval Kislev). Coup de tonnerre en plein milieu de l’été dans le business de la biotech israélienne. NeuroDerm a été vendue pour plus d’un milliard de dollars à Mistubishi Tanabe Pharma. Il s’agit de la plus grosse vente jamais réalisée par Israël dans le secteur de la santé.

Le CEO de Neuroderm est le Dr Oded Lieberman. L’un des investisseurs de référence est Robert Taub, fondateur de Omrix. L’un des investisseurs de NeuroDerm est aussi un ancien Professeur de l’Institut Weizman (IsraelValley ne peut transmettre le nom pour des raisons de confidentialité).

Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma a annoncé récemment avoir élaboré quatre objectifs stratégiques : renforcer ses capacités pour découvrir de nouveaux médicaments, faire progresser ses opérations nationales, se recentrer sur de nouveaux produits, et accélérer ses réformes opérationnelles et structurelles.
Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma a enregistré un chiffre d’affaires de 4,06 Mrds €. L’activité pharmaceutique (médicaments, OTC) représente 97,6 % du chiffre d’affaires. Les autres activités, dont font en grande partie les activités de chimie fine, ont atteint 9,59 Mrds yens de ventes (2,4 % du chiffre d’affaires) et progressent de 3,1 %.
